With now 31 countries recognizing and legalizing same-sex marriage, marriage equality has progressed tremendously worldwide. There is no denial we still have a long way to go to achieve full equality, as in many of these countries, same-sex couples may experience additional restrictions and license and legal processes may differ across localities. However, the achievement so far is worth celebrating.
