When Rich & Will envisioned their destination wedding, they had a few clear priorities: an awe-inspiring setting, world-class service, ultimate privacy, and an extraordinary culinary experience. The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, known for its unparalleled attention to detail and passion for hospitality, checked every box. And so, their dream weekend in paradise began!
One of the most thoughtful ways to kick off a destination wedding weekend is with a Welcome Event, giving couples the opportunity to greet guests personally and set the tone for the days ahead. For Rich & Will, making their guests feel pampered from the moment they arrived was a top priority.
To create an effortlessly luxurious experience and to maximize quality time together the couple hosted their Welcome Dinner right on property with an exclusive buyout of El Farallon, Waldorf Astoria’s famed cliffside restaurant. Carved into the rugged cliffs that embrace the resort, El Farallon boasts jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. As guests arrived and took in the sweeping vistas, it was clear this evening would be one to remember.
The evening’s menu showcased El Farallon’s signature Ocean-to-Table concept: a beautifully curated, family-style seafood feast featuring the freshest local catches. Each dish was paired with a four-hour premium open bar, including Rich & Will’s personalized signature cocktails. As the sun set over the Pacific, guests mingled, sipped, and dined to the sound of waves crashing below, setting a magical tone for the celebrations to come.
On the morning of November 09th, 2024, under Cabo’s brilliant November sky, Rich & Will began their wedding day quietly and intimately, savoring a gourmet breakfast on the balcony of their private three-bedroom beachfront presidential suite. Overlooking the endless ocean waves, they soaked in the joy and anticipation of their special day.
The couple chose to get ready together, sharing private moments and laughter as they dressed for their ceremony. They also took this opportunity for family portraits on the terrace of their suite, an intimate, secluded space that honored their desire for privacy while offering a stunning natural ang gorgeous backdrop.
As the afternoon unfolded, guests gathered in the Waldorf Astoria’s elegant lobby, where they were greeted with refreshing classic margaritas. A live acoustic duet played a curated selection of the couple’s favorite songs, creating an atmosphere that was both romantic and welcoming. Behind the scenes, our wedding planning team, alongside the impeccable Waldorf Astoria staff, ensured flawless coordination, including securing the lobby space to create a fully private, serene setting for the ceremony.
When it was time for Rich & Will to exchange vows, they stood together on a custom-designed, minimalist ceremony stage. The design was intentionally modern and understated, allowing the magnificent natural beauty of the Pacific cliffs and ocean beyond to take center stage. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Rich & Will became Mr. & Mr. just as they imagined.
Following the ceremony, guests moved to the adjacent terrace for cocktail hour. They were welcomed with expertly crafted drinks and an array of delicious passed hors d’oeuvres, showcasing the seamless service and hospitality that Waldorf Astoria is celebrated for.
To infuse their wedding with a sense of place, Rich & Will surprised their guests with a lively traditional Mariachi band, adding an authentic Mexican flair to the festivities. As the band played under Cabo’s golden sunset, the terrace buzzed with laughter, music, and heartfelt toasts.
Following an emotional and heartfelt ceremony, Rich & Will’s wedding celebration continued with an elegant reception held at Don Manuel’s, Waldorf Astoria’s signature fine dining restaurant. Known for its warm, sophisticated ambiance and rich architectural design, Don Manuel’s was the perfect canvas to reflect the couple’s vision: a seamless blend of authentic Mexican charm and sophistication.
Our design team worked closely with Rich & Will to enhance the space without overshadowing its inherent beauty. Drawing inspiration from Will’s favorite color, we incorporated shades of green colors and touches of endemic Baja’s flora, the result was a refined, organic aesthetic that complemented the restaurant’s warm textures and elegant atmosphere, while feeling deeply personal to the couple.
Of course, the culinary experience was a top priority for Rich & Will. Together, we collaborated with the talented chefs at Don Manuel’s to craft an unforgettable feast. The menu celebrated the best of Baja’s local flavors, featuring elevated Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist. Every dish was thoughtfully paired with a premium open bar, ensuring glasses were never empty and guests could indulge in the couple’s custom signature cocktails throughout the night.
As guests dined beneath the warm glow of candlelight and ambient lighting, the mood was set by an acoustic trio, led by Caly Music & JMC, who played an intimate set during dinner. Their soulful melodies created an inviting and romantic atmosphere that made every guest feel part of the couple’s special day.
As the evening progressed, the music transitioned seamlessly into an upbeat, vibrant set that lured everyone to the dance floor. The energy was electric as Rich & Will, surrounded by their closest family and friends, celebrated under the stars, dancing, laughing, and living out their wedding night.
And just when it seemed the night couldn’t get any more magical, the sky above the Waldorf Astoria lit up in a spectacular display of fireworks. The bursts of color and light reflected off the ocean and cliffs, illuminating the entire resort in celebration of Rich & Will’s love story. It was a breathtaking finale to an unforgettable day and the perfect way to close out an extraordinary wedding weekend in Cabo San Lucas.
